Bunkyo City is committed to providing a welcoming environment for citizens from abroad.

The City Exchange Section at the Academy Promotion Department offers various events, where citizens from abroad and Japan can meet and learn about one another, in terms of culture as well as value systems for example.

Examples of Cultural Exchange Events

• International Cultural Exchange Festival:
  This annual event showcases diverse cultures from different countries and regions. A part of it consists of hands-on experiences of a variety of Japanese culture, for example tea ceremony, flower arrangement, calligraphy, craft Bonsai and Kimono-dressing.
• International Exchange Events:
  They give you nice opportunities, where you can talk and enjoy with Japanese people and other citizens from abroad.
  Examples include guided tours in English.
• Exchanges with Cities Abroad:
  Bunkyo City holds exchanges with our sister cities Kaiserslautern in Germany, Beyoğlu, Istanbul in Turkey and a number of other cities abroad.

アカデミー推進課（すいしんか）都市（とし）交流（こうりゅう）担当（たんとう）は、外国人（がいこくじん）と日本人（にほんじん）が交流（こうりゅう）するイベントを開（ひら）いています。

活動（かつどう）の紹介（しょうかい）

• 国際（こくさい）交流（こうりゅう）フェスタ
  日本（にほん）や外国（がいこく）の文化（ぶんか）を紹介（しょうかい）するイベントです。
  1年（ねん）に1回（かい）開（ひら）かれます。
  お花（はな）、お茶（ちゃ）、書道（しょどう）、着物（きもの）着付（きつけ）など日本（にほん）文化（ぶんか）を体験（たいけん）できます。
• 国際（こくさい）交流（こうりゅう）イベント
  外国人（がいこくじん）と、区民（くみん）の交流（こうりゅう）のイベントを開（ひら）きます。
  英語（えいご）観光（かんこう）ツアーなどがあります。
• 海外（かいがい）都市（とし）との交流（こうりゅう）
  姉妹（しまい）都市（とし）：ドイツ・カイザースラウテルン市（し)
  友好（ゆうこう）都市（とし）：トルコ・イスタンブール市（し）・ベイオウル区（く）
  友好（ゆうこう）都市（とし）：中国（ちゅうごく）・北京市（ぺきんし）・通州区（つうしゅうく）
  その他の海外（かいがい）都市（とし）と交流（こうりゅう）しています。
